Vintage Cast Iron Base Drafting Table By Hamilton MFG CO

Extremely rare and beautiful vintage industrial drafting table "Deluxe No 101" by hamilton MFG CO. All-original, including swing-out arm and tool tray.

Here is the description straight from the 1929 hamilton drafting room furniture catalog:

"This is a very practical, rigid, first-class adjustable iron and steel base drawing table. It has all the advantages of other similar tables now on the market and none of their disadvantages.

This table is rigid at any height, and the tabletop is raised or lowered using a large hand wheel operating bevel gears and spiral shafts. The shafts revolve on ball bearings, and the horizontal shaft has babbitted bearings.

Unlike most adjustable drawing tables, there is no need for set screws or safety devices of any kind. The top can never slip down. However, for extra rigidity and to eliminate any play between the working parts, we have provided hand-wheels which, when tightened, prevent any accidental raising or lowering of the top."

The height goes to any point between 35.75 and 50 inches, perfect for sitting or standing.

The tilt of the table is adjustable as well.

Both legs have an opening for interchangeable swing-out arms measuring 21 from the centers of the respective mounts. Swiveling tool tray with sliding drawer is 14 by 9.75 by 5 inches. The drawer has a lowered surface for keeping something like, for instance, brushes and palettes, from rolling around, especially when the tabletop is tilted.

Casters allow for moving around easily.

The top has been restored and still has generous signs of age and wear. It measures 48 by 36 inches. The original "Hamilton MFG" authenticating tag has been removed for restoration and will be attached back on.
