Lithographic die for votive lights by Star Candle Co. of Brooklyn, NY.

The die looks like it's been used to make boxes to hold a dozen of candles of the same color. The die would have paint rolled over, then pressed into cardboard. Side fold printed the table of candle colors, which had to be marked by hand.

Judging by the greenish patina, the die seems to be made of brass.

Star candle co has been manufacturing candles for over 80 years out of its brooklyn facilities. The manufacturing has since been outsourced to china, the office moved to new jersey, and brooklyn became way too cool.

This is a really cool piece of decor, as well as significant relics of the change we've been going through.
